Savannah Educational Consultants (SEC) is proud to partner with the Georgia Promise Scholarship, a program designed to expand educational opportunities for students in under‑resourced schools. Under this initiative, students attending 38 of Savannah‑Chatham County’s 58 public schools may access tutoring and speech‑language therapy with their scholarship funds. This partnership allows us to share our expertise with families who may not otherwise afford individualized support.
Literacy rates in Savannah remain alarmingly low. Data from the Spring 2024 Georgia Milestones assessment show that over half of sixth‑grade students and 50 % of fourth‑graders are not reading at grade level[1]. Limited reading skills undermine success in all subjects and contribute to long‑term socio‑economic disparities[2]. By connecting qualifying families to evidence‑based tutoring and speech therapy, the Georgia Promise Scholarship helps close these gaps.
